Our homes offer a mixture of ground floor accommodation and bedrooms over 1 or 2 floors. The rooms have been designed to reflect Pendlebury Care Homes belief and experience that individuals respond to quality and spacious surroundings, whilst creating a homely atmosphere.

The lounge and dining areas form the heart of each home. This communal space is an area for residents and staff to be together. A place that encourages activity, community and friendship and most people in a structured environment feel more secure and get more stimulation.

Open plan layouts are helpful to increase visibility for bathrooms and access points to other parts of the building via landmarks such as furniture, artwork, plants and items that are generally interesting.

Each resident has their own bedroom that can be adapted to meet their needs and decorated how they like. There are a number of en-suite rooms and bathrooms.

To aid the moving process, it is important for the bedroom to have as many familiar items as possible. Family photos or pictures on the wall, familiar bed coverings can make the new room look a little like their own bedroom at home.

There are open spaces both inside and outside, which enable the residents to walk around in a safe environment.

A lift and stairs allow access to the upper floors and signs are placed at an appropriate height to aid “Wayfinding.” Handrails and door handles are easy to use and recognising amongst the décor.

We contrast colour schemes to aid visibility, for example skirting boards in colours that contrast with wall and floor finishes.

Furniture design and layout enables comfort and ease of use by the resident.

Resident call systems are fitted and easy to identify in bedroom areas and bathroom facilities which they may use alone.

Reminiscence boards and displays prompt interest, interaction and conversation.

"We were really anxious before Mum came to the home but we needn't have worried as she is in good hands. The staff took the time to explain everything to us, we didn't feel rushed to make a decision and we were shown round the home."
