 Typically each home has a Registered Manager, Team Leader, Senior Care and Care Assistants ( Day and Night Positions), Chef, Maintenance, Activity Coordinator and Domestic and Laundry staff.

Pendlebury Care Homes are residential homes registered with the Care Quality Commission to provide accommodation and care to older people with dementia or other sensory needs. Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year, we need staff round the clock to ensure that each resident is supported and making life as enjoyable as possible.

Shift patterns for care staff are typically :

  • Days 8am – 8pm with 1 hour deducted for breaks
  • Days 8am – 2pm or 2pm – 8pm
  • Nights 8pm – 8am with 1 hour deducted for breaks.

Terms : Contract hours, competitive salary, job training, first uniform free, onsite parking, 28 days holiday a year ( inclusive of Bank Holidays).

Senior Care Assistant - Nights

The home prides ourselves on providing high quality person centred care.

The Role

The Home is now looking for somebody to join the already thriving staff team at Pendlebury Court. The successful applicant must have the ability to work in a person centred way and have the confidence and experience to lead and motivate the night team as part of the role..

The safety of the resident's always comes first and you must be organised and flexible in your work. Good communication skills are important as well as accurate record keeping.

You will ensure that all care standards and legal requirements are maintained to the highest level.

Hours of work are 33 hours over 7 days ( 3 shifts) per week and working every other weekend. Flexibility also to cover for holidays or other absence would be appreciated.

Experience required:

You will have experience of working in a 30 plus residential Home ideally for 2 years. You will possess a recognised health and socail care qualification at Level 3 or abovor be working towards this qualification.

Pendlebury Care Homes recognise that people have busy lives but may also want to work a few hours a week. Our team of bank staff are invaluable to us as they keep our operations running often at short notice.

All new employees attend a comprehensive induction programme, which covers all the basic knowledge they need for them to work at the home.

We provide further training courses specifically tailored to the needs of the company and individual job roles.

Ongoing Training and Development

All staff are required to have the appropriate skills and knowledge for their job and there is an ongoing training programme for core skills, Manual Handling, Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults, Food Hygiene, First Aid, Fire Training and Health and Safety.

All courses are provided by either internal or external trainers as appropriate. All mandatory courses are accredited, other courses can be used as units or learning towards an industry related qualification.

Qualifications such as NVQ/QCF diploma Level 2 or 3 are offered for all care staff, and we expect staff to engage in this further learning as it offers invaluable knowledge to support them in the role. 

Staff that are new to care will undertake the Care Certificate which covers different modules over a 12 week period. You will be required to do some of the workbooks in your own time but will also be given time in work with a workplace mentor to guide you through the programme.
