Residential | Pendlebury Court | Care Home Glossop

Pendlebury Court residential home stands in its own grounds, just off the main high street Glossop.

You can be assured of a friendly welcome from our staff team as soon as you step through the door.

We strive for the right balance of comfortable surroundings, an excellent menu, well -appointed private bedrooms and a fun and interesting programme of activities, hobbies and entertainment.

Our attitude to and expertise in care is key to providing a successful service to our residents.

There are 12 bedrooms on the ground floor, 18 bedrooms on the first floor and 8 bedrooms on the second floor. The majority of the bedrooms have en-suite facilities.

The home has large communal lounge and dining areas on the ground and first floor, which promote activity, community and friendship.

Well thought our gardens provide plenty of space for outdoor activities in a safe environment. Residents are encouraged to help with flower and vegetable beds, enjoy summer dining on the patio areas or as a place to relax, read and watch the world go by.

At Pendlebury Care Homes we focus on each person’s therapeutic and social needs by understanding peoples interests, skills, life history, personality and medical condition. That’s why we offer a range of activities designed to encourage participation and interest

Staff will assist residents to pursue their chosen hobby wherever possible.

To give you a flavour of what is on offer, here are some of the activities to choose from :

  • Tenpin bowling / Boules
  • Cards / Dominoes
  • Armchair Aerobics / Walking / Gardening
  • Arts and Crafts

Residents are encouraged to make their own suggestions and some activities are reviewed regularly to include seasonal changes.

We are also like to get out and about in Derbyshire and beyond. Trips out are usually arranged in small numbers only.

The team are really motivated to ensure that no special date in the year goes un-noticed. Whether it is a special birthday for one of the residents or a notable date such as Halloween, Easter or Christmas, we make sure that everyone has an enjoyable time. We really encourage family involvement too, which is a key feature of the home.

"We were really anxious before Mum came to the home but we needn't have worried as she is in good hands. The staff took the time to explain everything to us, we didn't feel rushed to make a decision and we were shown round the home."
